November 3, 2015 — Atlanta and Bethlehem

Well, it’s been a very busy couple of weeks. I’m going to blame it on my children.

Ruth and I returned from our New England trip on Friday, October 16, in time for her to win the homeschool chili cookoff. Benjamin preceded us for his fall break from Grove City College. We enjoyed having him home, even though it was only for a couple of days.

On Sunday, October 18, I flew to Atlanta for Intern Training. I taught two sessions, met with interns, and had good conversations with other coordinators. I returned on Wednesday, a few hours before Stephen arrived from Korea. He was supposed to be in language training, but someone forgot to submit the paperwork, so it was postponed until November. That meant he could come back for the wedding of a friend.

I spent Thursday and Friday with Scott Mitchell at Lehigh University here in Bethlehem. It is exciting to see a new generation of leaders mature and take charge of the ministry. Scott is doing a great job at Lehigh!

Friday night Christopher surprised us with a knock on the door at 10:00 PM. This was the first of several mixups that weekend, none of which were troublesome, and all of which featured Stephen in some way. Ruth, Christopher, and I had a nice breakfast at The Peoples Kitchen Saturday morning, and Christopher headed down to Philadelphia after noon to visit friends there.

Daniel and Ginny showed up on Sunday afternoon, and Stephen arrived shortly thereafter. It was Stephen’s birthday, so we celebrated on the actual day – a rare event in this house.

So now you know why I didn’t post anything that weekend! I will report on the following week in my next post.
