I spent last Tuesday and Wednesday with Trip and Joy Beans at Millersville University. Their ministry is going well and I also visited with their intern and a local pastor who is very interested in RUF.
I drove home Wednesday evening and left Thursday morning for the annual retreat of our presbytery. The topic was prayer and it was an encouraging time visiting with each other in a relaxed setting.
Before I returned home Friday afternoon I participated in a two and a half hour video call with all the RUF coordinators and office staff to discuss how we should react to the spreading coronavirus. There is a lot to consider. Most universities are closing at least for several weeks and moving their courses online. RUF has already canceled all international travel, so my scheduled trip to Mexico this week will not happen. By evening there was an announcement that all weekend activities were canceled and that further instruction will be coming on Monday. It looks like ministry for me and all of RUF for the next few weeks will be by phone and internet.
