I left you last week after I had hiked two and a half miles up the mountain and back with Peter’s two oldest children. We set out late in the afternoon and arrived at Flat Rock in time to view the whole Cumberland Valley, but it was dark by the time we returned. Everyone slept very soundly that night!
Last Monday the Mid-Atlantic staff joined us at Doubling Gap Center for our fall staff day. Derek Bates brought his family, and his children were all over the gymnasium. Daryl Wattley brought his wife and cute newborn girl. We had a good time in worship, sharing, prayer, teaching, and fellowship. Most left for home after dinner. Daryl and his wife and baby stayed overnight, so Ruth and I stayed also and drove home Tuesday morning.
I worked at home on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday I went to Millersville to visit Trip and Joy Beans at Millersville University. I arrived in time for their Ministry Team meeting, met some students, and attended the Large Group meeeting where Trip preached an excellent sermon. Since Millersville is not too far away, Ruth joined us for dinner Friday evening.
Yesterday we drove to Grove City to see Benjamin perform in “Brigadoon.” After church this morning we drove to Pittsburgh so that we can visit Derek and Luda Bates this week.
