On Tuesday I caught an early flight to Mexico City. Along the way I read applications for RUF assessment and listened to sermons. I got some exercise to work the kinks out of my body before dinner, which was with Barush and Lanu, and Monse.
I spent most of Wednesday with Barush and two local pastors – Victor Cruz and Marco Escalente. On my trip at the beginning of June we observed the wonderful success of the ministry this year, and we learned that Barush and Monse wished to continue working with us. The purpose of this trip was to discuss the details and make arrangements for next year. I had a terrific time with these three men. That evening at dinner I wrapped things up with Barush and Monse. One of the topics of discussion was a plan for fundraising in the U.S. We set a tentative schedule for them to help us raise the funds for next year.
It took most of Thursday to get home. Today I worked on setting up those fundraising events. God has richly blessed RUF in Mexico. Pray that He continue to do so, and that He provide the funds we need.
Next week I will be in the office preparing for the rest of the month: RUF assessment the following week, staff training in three weeks, and Mexico fundraising.
