Creed
The Creed may be omitted if Morning or Evening Prayer are said on this day.
|Christian, what do you believe?
I believe in God the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended into hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God
the Father Almighty.
From there he shall come to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
Prayers
I will bless the Lord at all times.
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ have mercy upon us.
Lord have mercy upon us.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever. Amen.
O Lord, hear our prayer;
And let our cry come to you.
|Let us pray.
Collect of the Day
Sunday
Pour your grace into our hearts, O Lord,
that we who have known the incarnation
of your Son Jesus Christ,
announced by an angel to the Virgin Mary,
may by his Cross and passion be brought
to the glory of his resurrection;
Who lives and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Monday
Almighty God, give us grace
that we may cast away the works of darkness,
and put upon us the armor of light,
now in the time of this mortal life,
in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us
in great humility;
that in the last day, when He shall come again
in His glorious Majesty to judge
both the living and the dead,
we may rise to life immortal:
Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.
Tuesday
Heavenly Father,
in you we live and move and have our being:
we humbly pray you so to guide and govern us
by your Holy Spirit,
that in all the cares and occupations of our life
we may not forget you, but may remember
that we are ever walking in your sight;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Wednesday
O Lord, King of heaven and earth,
May it please You this day to order and hallow,
to rule and govern our hearts and bodies,
our thoughts, words, and works,
according to Your commandments;
Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.
Thursday
Almighty and Everliving God,
Who makes us both to will and to do
those things which are good, and acceptable
to Your Divine Majesty:
Let your Fatherly hand, we beg You,
be always over us;
let Your Holy Spirit always be with us;
and so lead us in the knowledge and obedience
of Your Word,
that in the end we may obtain everlasting life;
Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.
Friday
Almighty God, who alone gave us the breath of life,
and alone can keep alive in us
the holy desires you impart;
We beg you, for your compassion’s sake
to sanctify all our thoughts and endeavors;
that we may neither begin an action
without a pure intention
nor continue it without your blessing.
And grant that, having the eyes of the mind
opened to behold things invisible and unseen,
we may in heart be inspired by your wisdom,
and in work be upheld by your strength,
and in the end be accepted by you
as your faithful servants;
Through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
Saturday
Grant us, O Lord, to pass this day in gladness and peace,
without stumbling and without stain,
that reaching the evening victorious
over all temptation through your ever present aid,
we may praise You, the Eternal God,
who governs all things
and are blessed for evermore;
Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.
Prayer for Mission
Sunday
O God and Father of all,
whom the whole heavens adore:
Let the whole earth also worship you,
all nations obey you,
all tongues confess and bless you,
and men everywhere love you
and serve you in peace;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Monday
O God of all the nations of the earth:
Remember the multitudes
who have been created in your image
but have not known the redeeming work
of our Savior Jesus Christ;
And grant that,
by the prayers and labors of your holy Church,
they may be brought to know and worship you
as you have been revealed in your Son;
Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Tuesday
O God, you have made of one blood
all the peoples of the earth,
and sent your blessed Son to preach peace
to those who are far off and to those who are near:
Grant that people everywhere may seek after you
and find you;
bring the nations into your fold;
pour out your Spirit upon all flesh;
and hasten the coming of your kingdom;
Through the same your Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Wednesday
Almighty and everlasting God,
who alone works great marvels:
Send down upon our clergy and the congregations
committed to their charge
the life-giving Spirit of your grace,
shower them with the continual dew
of your blessing,
and ignite in them a zealous love of your Gospel;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Thursday
Almighty Savior, who at noonday called your servant
Saint Paul to be an apostle to the Gentiles:
We pray you to illumine the world
with the radiance of your glory,
that all nations may come and worship you;
For you live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.
Friday
Blessed Savior, at this hour you hung upon the cross,
stretching out your loving arms:
Grant that all the peoples of the earth
may look to you and be saved;
For your tender mercies’ sake. Amen.
Saturday
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love
on the hard wood of the Cross
that everyone might come within the reach
of your saving embrace:
So clothe us in your Spirit that we,
reaching forth our hands in love,
may bring those who do not know you
to the knowledge and love of you;
For the honor of your Name. Amen.

for all your goodness and loving-kindness
to us and to all whom you have made.
We bless you for our creation, preservation,
and all the blessings of this life;
but above all for your immeasurable love
in the redemption of the world
by our Lord Jesus Christ;
for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.
And, we pray,
give us such an awareness of your mercies,
that with truly thankful hearts
we may show forth your praise,
not only with our lips, but in our lives,
by giving up our selves to your service,
and by walking before you
in holiness and righteousness all our days;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit,
be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
|Let us bless the Lord.
|Thanks be to God.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
